World Hand Hygiene Day!

We know that it is Cinco de Mayo, but most do not know that today is also World Hand Hygiene Day. Also, last week was World Immunization Week. The timing of all of this could not be more relevant.
We face the fact that families fears prevent them from taking their children to their doctors for booster vaccines in an attempt to keep them safe from contracting Covid-19. Reports about reductions in vaccinations have caused fear of potential outbreaks in the diseases that these vaccines were preventing.
News reports released daily showcase the toll in lives affected or taken by this terrible virus. So many people cannot visit and give some comfort to their sick or dying loved ones in the hospital. Nor can they attend funerals to say goodbye. While we are still in the middle of this tragedy, we can prevent future ones from happening again.
What can we do?
Families can:
Wear masks appropriately in public,
Keep frequently touched surfaces in the home clean and sanitized, and
Teach kids to wash their hands thoroughly and often
Do not allow fear and indecision to keep you from safeguarding your child’s health. Do your research, educate yourself, and do not hesitate to ask questions of your healthcare providers.

Make Hand Hygiene Day Every day!
I wish you all, Sustainable Health!
