Last weekend I took the Brightline from Fort Lauderdale to West Pam Beach, a thirty minute relaxing hassle free jaunt, just to try the new railway. But the highlight of the trip was the West Palm Beach Green Market.

The West Palm Beach Green Market is only open on Saturdays from 9 AM to 1 PM through April 21st., and if you are in the area around this time it is practically a must-see attraction. They have everything a green market should have, fresh produce, fruits and vegetables, herbs and spices, fresh juices, salads and lunches made to order, baked goods and sweet treats. If that was not enough, you can do almost all your grocery shopping right there and take home fresh flowers. Orchid lovers will struggle to find their favorite vendor and plant with Laurel Orchids, Heavenly Orchids and more.

Are Pets Welcome?
Yes they are, especially the family pooch. I counted no less than five vendors with an assortment of things for Americas favorite pet. Other than humans, the market was filled with dogs of all types. If I only wanted to dog watch, I would have been happy, and the dogs all looked happy to be there. It was nice to see how well trained they all were and that there were no messes that I could see.

Tails wagged as both owners and pets welcomed the pets and attention they got from others, and the food and treats they got from the Good Dog Bakery and the Dog Deli did not hurt either. It was a little bit of dog heaven. Honestly, I saw more dogs with their humans than I do at a typical dog park and they were having more fun. Several vendors were selling homemade dog food, treats and accessories, so fido could leave fed and fashionable.
So many Choices
By the time we were done walking out the whole market I realized there would be no need to go grocery shopping for the week. We were also able to get lunch. It was satisfying to have eaten earlier at a breakfast place up the street, walk it all off in the Market, and have a brunch treat of the Cider Donuts stand.

It was just a decadent and a sweet way to end the trip. Another stall was making crepes to order, while sauce and spice vendors served up hot, mild and spicy fare. The line for organic meats and cheeses was too long for me to wait, but there was always something new and interesting to grab my attention at the next stall.

Live Band
Yes, there was even a live band setting up or changing acts, I could not tell, but they were playing music and some people just sat in front of the act, enjoying the music.
Unique Experience
I can safely say that I had never been to a green market with a live band and so may choices where I could get almost everything on my grocery list and then some. It was not just a shopping trip. it was an experience. One I would not mind repeating before it closes in April until the next season. See some more pictures of the highlights.

If we had not taken the Brightline train, I might never have ventured this far to visit a farmer's market, and I would have missed a very good thing.
